Hello! I’m Pilar, a bilingual therapist at HopeSprings.

Life is constantly changing. While change can be exciting, it can also be one of life’s greatest sources of stress, and stress can have a profound impact on your emotional well-being.

For more than 20 years, I have worked in mental health and social services, providing culturally responsive care to children, adolescents, adults, and families from diverse backgrounds. My professional experience includes crisis intervention, juvenile justice, parenting support, mentoring, services for victims and survivors of human trafficking, residential treatment programs, and leadership roles. Most recently, I served as the Associate Director for the Caminos Program at Cunningham Children’s Home, where I provided program oversight, supervised multidisciplinary teams, and helped ensure the delivery of high-quality, trauma informed services for vulnerable youth.

I enjoy helping clients navigate life’s transitions and adapt to change in healthy, meaningful ways. Growing up with a multicultural heritage rooted in my grandparents’ immigration journey from Europe to South America, along with my professional training and personal life experiences, has shaped my passion for helping others overcome adversity, build resilience, and find healing.

I believe every person has unique strengths that can serve as the foundation for growth and recovery. I enjoy helping clients navigate a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, acculturation stress, immigration-related challenges, domestic violence, grief and loss, emotional and behavioral difficulties, and working with justice-involved youth.

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and strengths- based. I use evidence-based practices tailored to each client’s individual needs, helping them understand how past experiences may influence present challenges while developing practical, solution-focused strategies to achieve meaningful goals, develop and increase coping skills, build resilience, and create lasting change.

I am fluent in both English and Spanish and am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT), and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI). My therapeutic approach incorporates Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, solution-focused therapy, strengths-based interventions, mindfulness, and therapeutic use of art and play.

Every healing journey is unique. Finding the right therapy at the right time can make a meaningful difference, together, we can work toward meaningful change, greater self-understanding, and lasting well-being.
