Hello, my name is Kassidy, and I am one of the therapists at HopeSprings. I recently graduated from Eastern Illinois University. Prior to attending graduate school, I worked as a mobile crisis responder where I was able to meet kids, teens, and adults in the community to provide immediate crisis intervention and assessments. During my internships for graduate school, I worked primarily with kids, teens, and young adults in an outpatient setting. I have experience working with people managing anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, and borderline personality disorder.
I use a trauma-informed, person-centered approach in sessions while incorporating motivational interviewing techniques as well as some Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) at times. I have been trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), as well as verbal de-escalation as a part of TCI. I value collaborating with my clients and their families (or other supportive people) in order to help them reach their individualized goals.
I believe that meeting my clients with openness, kindness, and support is a necessary foundation for positive outcomes. I also find value in being creative and adaptable with counseling and incorporating creative expression into sessions. When meeting with me, I hope that you experience all these things. I am glad you’re here.
Education: Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Eastern Illinois University and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Science from Trinity Christian College.
