What is a Good Faith Estimate?

As of January 1, 2022, per the No Surprises Act, HopeSprings Counseling Services offers Good Faith Estimates (GFEs) to uninsured clients. These estimates outline expected charges based on your treatment needs. GFEs are not contracts and do not bind you to obtain services from us..

When will you receive a Good Faith Estimate?

The GFE will be given at least three business days before your first service and within three business days upon request for additional appropriate and medically necessary services. Updates to the GFE will occur every six months to keep you informed about potential service charges.

What if you disagree with the amount of your charges?

If your bill exceeds $400 beyond the estimate, you can request a bill update, negotiate or explore financial aid options with HopeSprings Counseling Services. Alternatively, you can begin a dispute resolution process with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) within 120 days of the original bill date for a $25 fee. If HHS supports your claim, you’ll pay the estimated amount; if not, you’ll pay the higher sum.

For questions or more information about your right to a GFE or the dispute resolution process, visit the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services medical bill rights page or call 1-800-985-3059.
